Description
This massive, sculptural Tamba kasa (umbrella-shaped) vase makes a dramatic statement. We believe it was made in the late Edo or early Meiji era — a time when Japan was fascinated with modernism and machinery. However, despite its modern, precise and machine-like presence, it is entirely hand-formed. Heavy and substantial, this vase would work well in modern settings and loft spaces. It is also a great vase for ikebana.
Due to its substantial size and weight, we regret that international shipping (outside of the U.S.) is not available.
