Description
This tsutsu (pipe shaped) kuro (black) Raku chawan is by Zuiho Kawai (1913-1964), a gifted and celebrated potter who worked in the Raku and Kyo-yaki traditions. The chawan is on the small side, and feels light in one’s hands. The warm black glaze has red undertones, which can be seen in several places. This beautiful and elegant chawan has high sides and is perfect for using in the cold months. It comes in a signed box.
