Inuyama-yaki bowl with Tang lion

Large, and heavy Inuyama-yaki “cake bowl” from the Edo era with a Tang dynasty influenced lion motif. The painting is done in an extremely capable style: free and very bold. The evidence of the potter’s hand is also apparent in the hand-molding. This is a large bowl that can be used as a serving bowl or as a decorative item. It comes with the original box.

Condition: Good. There is some crackling, as expected in a bowl of this age. There is one very small rim chip as shown in the photo.

Size: 7.68 x 3.74 inches / 19.5cm x 9.5cm
