Pair of mid-Edo Imari plates with scalloped edges $275
Two elegant medium-sized Imari plates from the mid-Edo era (early 1700′s) with kiku (chrysanthemum) scalloped edges surrounding skillfully painted architectural scenes. Pictured is a corner of an engawa (porch) overlooking a garden, while an abstract cloud drifts by.
Condition: One plate has no chips or scratches. There are two tiny chips on the edge of one of the plates as seen on the photos, and some minor imperfections (from the kiln) on the bottom.
