Clog-shaped kuro oribe chawan
Outstanding kutsu (clog-shaped) kuro (black) oribe chawan from the Momoyama era (1573-1615). An excellent example of wabi sabi aesthetics, the only “decoration” are the tong marks that were used to pull the chawan. This is a large, bold piece in an extremely desirable shape that fits comfortably in large hands. The feel is heavy and substantial. A box (not original, with part of the top missing) is included.
